VINCENNES, Ind. - Vincennes University’s Beckes Student Union will come alive with the sound of fiddles, banjoes, mandolins, guitars, and more during the 13th Annual Old Post Bluegrass Jam on Sunday, Feb. 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EST). Admission is free to the event that features acoustic musicians in live jam sessions throughout the building. The Student Union is located at 1101 N. Second Street and free parking is available on the Third Street side of the building.
“The Bluegrass Jam is a lot of fun for both participants and the audience,” said Bill Stedman, longtime organizer of the popular event. As one of the first jams of the year, Stedman says the event always draws musicians from a large geographic area, as well as an appreciative audience. Stedman invites area musicians to bring their acoustic instruments and join in the fun.
In addition to jams throughout the building, there will also be three groups performing on stage in the Food Court, including Mariah Creek at 1:00, State Line at 2:30, and the Hawf Family String Band at 3:45.
Food and beverages will be available on site at Grinder’s Coffee Shop beginning at 7:30 a.m. and the Food Court beginning at 10:30 a.m. Among the selections in the Food Court will be a Bluegrass Special that includes a BBQ Pork Sandwich with seasoned fries, coleslaw and small fountain drink for $5.99.
