Recycle electrical items and more at May 5 E-Recycling event

VINCENNES, Ind. - A community-wide E-recycling Day is planned on May 5,
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EDT, at the parking lot across from Vincennes
University’s Red Skelton Performing Arts Center, located on Skelton Blvd.
The event is co-sponsored by VU, Knox County Solid Waste Management
District, and RecycleForce.

RecycleForce is registered with the Indiana Department of Environmental
Management as an official collector and recycler of e-waste.  This ensures
compliance with environmental regulations and laws.  More information is

The E-Recycling Day is part of VU’s Blue and Gold Makes Green campus
recycling effort and is open to the community.

Accepted items include anything with an electric cord as well as all
household recycling, cardboard, and bikes and bicycle accessories.  People
are invited to bring batteries, bicycles & accessories, Blue Ray discs,
cardboard, cash registers, CDs/DVDs, cell phones, computer
mice/boards/keyboards, PCs, mainframe computers, copiers, copy paper, CRT
monitors (no bare tubes), desktop computers/CPUs, electronic motors,
electronic wiring, fax machines, game systems (Xbox, DS, Sony, etc.),
floppy discs, laserdisc players, glass (amber, green, clear only),
integrated circuits, laptops/notebooks, metals (aluminum, copper, brass,
nickel), microphones, microwaves, motors, PDAs, phone systems, phonebooks,
plastics 1-7, power supplies & back-up systems, power cables, printers,
scanners, satellite components, Styrofoam, surge protectors, thumb drives,
toner cartridges, TVs, and VCR/DVD/CD players.

Persons may drop-off items at no charge but a $5 donation is requested for
all televisions and monitors.
