Leadership Knox County is an educational program supported by the Knox County Chamber of Commerce and facilitated by Vincennes University. Class members earn college credit as they develop strong leadership skills and create new opportunities for the community through selected projects. Designed by the students, past projects range from new playgrounds to seminars for small businesses, festivals to scholastic activities. Read more about Leadership Knox County.
Enrollment has begun for the 2008-2009 class session. Beginning in September, the LKC class meets once a month and concludes with a graduation dinner in May. The tuition is $599 per person and includes books, handouts, lunches provided by supporting organizations, some transportation, a retreat and a graduation dinner. Many businesses and organizations will send a new class member each year. However, the program is open to any Knox County resident. Other sponsors provide scholarships. VU employees receive a tuition discount as with other University courses.
The registration deadline is June 30, 2008. Class size is limited and applications are reviewed by the screening committee.
