(MATH EXIT TEST)
Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) DEGREE CRITERIA:
Each student who is a candidate for the
A.A.S. degree must demonstrate achievement in mathematics by satisfying the
conditions of
one of the following criteria:
- 1. Earn a C or better in two 100-level or higher mathematics courses,
OR
- 2. Earn a C or better in a mathematics course above MATH 101,
OR
- 3. Earn a C or better in one (1) 100-level or higher MATT mathematics course or MATH 101
and then
pass a standardized test prior to graduation.
OR
- 4. Earn a C or better in the Apprenticeship Courses MATA 101, MATA 102, MATA 103, MATA
104, MATA 105, and MATA 106.

If you answered
YES to
ALL THREE questions, then you must take the GENED MATH ACHIEVEMENT TEST.
If you are also graduating in the semester you are complying with the GENED math
criteria, you can take your Math Achievement test
in the last two weeks of your final semester
.
Main Campus Students: See your advisor and obtain a Testing Authorization Form with the
first two sections of the form properly filled out and signed by your advisor.

Then bring the yellow and pink copies of the form to the Assessment Center and
you may take the test.
PASSING CRITERIA:
To pass the test for the A.A.S. degree you must score 50 points or above on the
Arithmetic section (17 problems), of the test, (50 of 120 possible points is 42%, or about 7 or 8
problems correct)
RETESTING:
Retesting until you pass is allowed, but
NOT within the SAME DAY
! You must wait 24 hours before attempting a retest.
You are expected to seek remediation between attempts by self-study, tutors, math lab, etc
