Agribusiness—the industries servicing agriculture or providing value-adding processes to agricultural products—accounts for one in four jobs and nearly one-fifth of the U.S. gross national product.  Businesses from large multinational corporations to new input supply and emerging food manufacturing continue their strong demand for more employees with increased skills in Agribusiness.

THE VU ADVANTAGE
VU’s Agribusiness program offers you a broad spectrum of agriculture-related study:

• You will develop a working knowledge in farm finance, crop production, management techniques, and computer applications.
• Laboratory work will provide you with valuable hands-on experience in pesticide selection, fertilizer planning, calibration of spraying devices, and more.

Although this program is not primarily designed to transfer to a four-year institution, students often become so interested that they decide to continue their studies after they graduate from VU.  Approximately one-fourth of our graduating classes continue their education at a four-year college.  Of those who choose to enter the workforce, the average starting salary was $36,373 in 2008.
