This one-year program is designed to prepare you for an entry-level position to develop custom databases for business and industry.
A database is an organized collection of information. For example, a telephone book is a good example of a database consisting of names, addresses, and phone numbers. A computerized database management system allows people to manipulate this information by storing, sorting, retrieving, and printing the information to help them make better decisions and perform their jobs more efficiently.
With a database certificate from VU, you will be able to use the appropriate language to write instructions for Microsoft Access and Oracle database software packages. The programming languages you will study include, Visual C++ and Visual Basic.
In addition to database development, you will also learn the basics of creating and maintaining web pages.
Note: Recommended courses assume developmental requirements have been met.
