WEB DESIGN 5751
Business and Public Service Visit Business Print-Friendly Print-Friendly

Students will learn the fundamentals of Web page design, Web graphics, and animation for Internet delivery. Various Web design models used in personal, commercial and government Web sites are covered. Students will design Web pages and Web sites that implement the latest software tools and techniques that take full advantage Internet-based economy.

Vincennes University’s Web Design puts emphasis on practical skills that enable the prospective Web designer to enter the job market for employment opportunities. Among skills students will acquire include but not limited to the following:

  • Create images for Web pages
  • Create Web pages using both HTML and utilities
  • Integrate various Web design tools
  • Apply common computer concepts
  • Acquire communication and networking skills
  • Acquire project management skills
  • Implement dynamic applications using Flash
  • Implement data driven Web Applications with PHP and MySQ
  • Create interactive Web pages using dynamic design principles
  • Implement visual design principles
  • Enable the learner to acquire skills needed to keep up with ever changing Internet-based economy

THE VU ADVANTAGE

Leading to an A.A.S. degree, this two-year program enables the student to spend considerable number of hours each week putting into practice the principles of designing and implementation of dynamic Web pages for personal or business applications. In addition to the courses providing design skills, each student must satisfy the Vincennes University requirements for general education.  Students are required to take and successfully complete English Composition I and MATH 101 with at least a letter grade of C.

EMPLOYMENT POTENTIAL

Acquisition of the skills outline above will enable the successful student to enter into the job market in design and implementation of dynamic Web pages.
