Bachelor of Science Degree
While most people are familiar with homeland security as it relates to our government and terrorism. it actually has a much larger scope. In an ever-changing society that demands and requires .public safety accountability, the career opportunities are almost limitless.
Some of the best opportunities are with business and private industry. These organizations are becoming increasingly concerned with protecting their assets and personnel who may be scattered throughout the world, as well as responding to disasters and emergencies. To help ensure that they are well-prepared for whatever situation may arise, businesses are demanding that their security people have the same quality training as government employees.
VU’s Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security and Public Safety is designed for this purpose. It was developed to strengthen the skills and educational level of all first responders by allowing students with an associate degree to complete an advanced inter-disciplinary baccalaureate degree.
