BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE 1050

This program offers a coordinated study of psychology and sociology, two fields that attempt to understand and explain how people act the way they do. Psychology deals with people as individuals and sociology deals with people as groups or social institutions, such as families, tribes, businesses, or government.

FOR PEOPLE INTERESTED IN HUMAN BEHAVIOR

An associate degree in Behavioral Science is especially beneficial for those who are deeply interested in human behavior and like research and analysis, but are not sure in what field to specialize. This program allows you to spend time studying and doing volunteer work in each area so you can decide which one interests you most. By the time you have completed your sophomore year, you will have had the experience and counseling to know where you want to concentrate your future studies.

ALTERNATIVE LEARNING METHODS

Instruction at VU goes beyond the traditional lecture and film-series format by making available a Social Science Learning Center staffed by full-time professionals. The center provides learning aids such as:

In addition, all classes are taught by qualified faculty who are committed to working with you on a one-to-one basis.

All this personal attention is designed to help you build a strong academic foundation your first two years. Our goal is that you transfer successfully to complete your baccalaureate degree.

Note: Recommended courses assume any developmental requirements have been met.
