Vincennes University offers flight and ground training leading to the private pilot certificate, commercial pilot certificate, and instrument rating. You may also earn the multiengine rating, flight instructor certificate, and instrument flight instructor rating.
EARNING YOUR WINGS
The training for the private and commercial certificate and instrument rating is accomplished under Federal Aviation Regulation Part 141. At Vincennes University you can obtain a commercial pilot certificate in 195 flight hours instead of the 250 flight hours normally required. Your first semester will involve 45 clock hours of actual flight time, including 8 hours of solo flight.
The VU program is designed to be a balance of aviation classes and traditional academic subjects. Flight training is done at the Mid-American Air Center of the Lawrenceville-Vincennes Airport, a 3,000-acre facility with mile-long runways free of obstructions.
