ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum SAT verbal score of 370 (R) plus
• Minimum SAT math score of 330 (R) or
• Appropriate placement test scores
YOUR LONG-RANGE GOALS
An associate in science degree can be completed in four semesters. However, some students prefer to earn their AP license first. After certification, you will have several options for completing your associate degree. If you decide to continue your education even further, your courses will transfer to Purdue, Indiana State, and other four-year universities. We will help you plan your education in stages that meet your long-range goals.
Stage I – Earn FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification
Stage II – Earn Associate in Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance (A.A.S.) or an Associate in Science in Aviation Maintenance (A.S., which transfers)
Stage III – Earn a bachelor's degree in Aviation Technology or Aviation Management

You will be required to buy your own tools, but several manufacturers give VU students substantial discounts. Depending on what you buy, the cost will range from $1,200 to $1,400. These tools are an investment that will be used throughout your career.
