CONSTRUCTION, BUILDING MATERIALS MARKETING 8241

Vincennes University’s Construction Technology/Building Materials Marketing program is designed to help you gain the product knowledge, business education, and salesmanship skills to begin a productive career in the building material supply industry.

THE VU ADVANTAGE

Graduates of this program are prepared to fill positions in sales, estimating, and management for manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and other building material distributors.

This program is also good for those interested in starting their own construction business. In addition to studying topics such as framing and finish carpentry, you will cover salesmanship, management, marketing, microcomputers, and small business operations.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING

Besides your classroom instruction, you will have the option of serving an internship with a building materials supplier. During this time you will receive on-the-job training in sales, yard duties, and in-store duties. This experience, coupled with your classroom training, will make for a valuable education as sought by many employers.

Starting salaries for our 2002 Construction Technology graduates ranged from $16,640 to $45,000 with an average of $33,158.
