COMPUTER NETWORKING SPECIALIST 8255

Computer networking is one of the fastest growing technologies in the world.  Current trends in Communications and Information Technology have led to a shortage of Network Specialists who design, install, troubleshoot, maintain, manage, and administer computer networks.  The 8255 Computer Networking Specialist program provides experience with Microsoft networks, the world's leading network software.  In fact, you can become certified in Microsoft networking as an MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer), a certification considered to be at the master/professional Microsoft networking level.  MCSE courses are administered in VU's certified "Microsoft IT-Academy" and taught by MCSE certified instructors.  This program is for those who wish to start or advance their career as a Networking Specialist.

WHAT YOU WILL STUDY:
      Network Design                           Network Administration
      MCSE Certification                      MCSA Certification
      CCNA Certification                      WAN Routers
      LAN Topologies                           Network Configuration
      Network Troubleshooting             LAN Management
      Peripheral Installation                  Network Installation

You will install, configure, troubleshoot, administer, and manage entire LANs (Local Area Networks), using the latest Microsoft software.  You will also install and program Cisco routers and switches.  The Microsoft IT Academy and the Cisco Networking Academy provide you hands-on experience with the latest networking laboratory equipment, as well as certified networking curriculums .  This training will help prepare you for the MCSE, MCSA, A+, MCP, and CCNA certifications.

CERTIFICATION INCREASES YOUR EARNING POWER:   Networking companies, as well as all major industries, require the skills of a Networking Specialist, but your opportunities will be greatly enhanced if you are networking certified.  While networking certifications require extensive reading, studying, and test preparation, the financial rewards are well worth the effort.  For your convenience, a certification exam center is located on Vincennes University’s main campus.

With a hands-on laboratory environment and industry recognized certifications, this degree will provide you with the skills needed to compete for those high paying IT-Networking Specialist positions.
