CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY 8240
Workers in the construction industry constitute one of the largest groups of skilled people in the workforce. If you are interested in being a part of this industry, the knowledge and skills gained at Vincennes University will help you excel in your chosen field.  You will be instructed in the various aspects of residential construction—not only in a classroom setting, but on a residential dwelling site as well. Students participate in the actual construction of a home as part of their second-year coursework.

THE VU ADVANTAGE

As a VU graduate you will be prepared for a variety of entry-level positions in residential construction including, but not limited to, estimating, carpentry, electrical wiring, concrete and masonry. With this diverse knowledge, you will make an ideal candidate for
promotion to supervisor or management.

PLACEMENT AND SALARIES

Over the past few years, approximately 90% of VU’s Construction Technology graduates have responded to our employment survey. Of those responding, most are employed in occupations directly related to construction, while approximately 15% elected to continue to pursue a BS degree at VU or another BS degree awarding institution. Starting salaries for our 2007 Construction Technology graduates ranged from $27,000 - $52,000 with an average of $36,500.

Note:  Recommended courses are for the A.S. degree and assume any developmental requirements have been met.
