The one-year Audio Recording Certificate program is designed to introduce student to basic recording techniques, physics of sound production, and electronic equipment maintenance through hands-on training. Computer based recording programs, such as Digital Performer and Pro Tools, are also introduced. Piano and Music Theory courses will afford students the opportunity to gain basic musicianship skills.

Students will also learn about the scientific principles involved in the description and generation of sound as it relates to music – frequency, wavelength, reflection and absorption, loudness, etc.
Graduates of this certificate program are prepared to assist in engineering and tape operation in recording studios of analog or digital design.
