VINCENNES YOUTH TENNIS PROGRAM 2008

WHO: ANY CHILD 5 YEARS OLD – 11TH GRADE: Regardless of tennis or athletic ability or background, any child interested in learning the game of tennis or taking their game to the next level is encouraged to attend. Program will be held at Vincennes University tennis courts.
WHEN: Session 1: Tues. May 27 – Fri, May 30 and Mon. June 2 – Thurs. June 5
Session 2: Tues. June 16 – Fri. June 19 and Mon. June 23 – Thurs. June 26
(Friday, June 6, 20, & 27 will serve as make up dates. (Please call 812-888-4474 for daily clinic status in the event of inclement weather.)
PEE – WEE TENNIS GROUP:
Ages 5 – 7 years old. 11:00am to 11:30am
COST: $30.00 per two-week session
FUTURE CHAMPIONS GROUPS:
5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade (grade just completed) - 8:00am to 8:55am
2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade (grade just completed) – 9:00am to 9:55am or 10:00am to 10:55am
COST: $50.00 per two week session, $80.00 for both sessions if paid by 5/23/08. $30.00 for a single week.
TOURNAMENT PLAYERS GROUP:
This summer’s clinic will also offer a drill oriented class open to those tournament level players coming out of grades 5-11. This 2-hour class will be offered at one time slot 8:00am – 10:00am.
To insure top quality student/instructor ratio and the highest level of instruction there will be only 24 available spots in this group.
COST: $85.00 per two week session, $140.00 for both sessions, $50.00 for single week.
(To accommodate parents and summer vacations, students may sign up for an individual week or may take the two-week rate with one week in each session. However, it is highly recommended that you sign up your child for both sessions, or one continuous session.)
INSTRUCTORS: The summer the youth tennis program is under the direction of Ron Albers, USPTA Professional and Head Men’s Tennis Coach at VU. Coach Albers has coached VU tennis since 1980 leading the Blazers to the NJCAA National Finals every year since 1984 with 3 National Runners up finishes. He is a member of the NJCAA Tennis Hall of Fame, and a Wilson and K Swiss National Coach of the Year. The clinic will be conducted in a positive, enjoyable, fun atmosphere with quality instruction. Coach Albers will be assisted by current collegiate tennis players as well as a talented and energetic group of former and current Lincoln and Rivet tennis players.
EQUIPMENT: All students will receive a Vincennes Youth Tennis Program T-shirt. Please dress comfortably. A water bottle, towel, and sunscreen are highly recommended. All players must bring TWO cans of unopened Penn or Wilson tennis balls.
