Sophomore Chris Taylor meet medalist with 6-over 78.....

            Vincennes, Ind., Apr. 7 – The Vincennes University golf team defeated visiting Oakland City and Lincoln Trail Monday afternoon in an 18-hole event at the Vincennes Golf Club.

            VU had a team total 323 beating Oakland City by only two strokes while Lincoln Trail tallied a 336.

            Trailblazer sophomore Chris Taylor (Linton, Ind.. HS) was meet medalist with a 6-over par 78 while teammates Logan Lamb (Greenville, Ind., Floyd Central) and Josh Robbins (Hartford City, Ind., Blackford)tied Phillip Riggs of Lincoln Trail with 79’s.

            “Chris continues to play well and Josh has shown steady improvement,” said VU coach Dennis Chattin. “Logan had a great back nine with the day’s low score 36.

            Other Blazer scores were an 87 by Andrew Grantz (Floyd’s Knobs,  Ind., Floyd Central) and an 88 from Jason Walters (Vincennes Lincoln).

            “We have a strong challenge coming up next Monday when we play a 36-hole, one-day event at Panther Creek in Springfield, Ill.,” Chattin said.

            “They host an LPGA event and it’s a great venue for us to play on.”
