Getting Started with Lotus Notes Email
This workshop is intended to give VU employees who are new to Lotus Notes Email the basic skills to get started. Topics covered include : about VU email systems, navigating through Lotus, working with the address books, creating a new memo, replying to a memo, how to attach a file to a memo, logging into the web-version, who to contact for help with Lotus. This handout includes links to five short instructional videos.

Classroom Management Techniques – How to get a discussion going in class

During this interactive workshop, participants will learn techniques to use in a face-to-face classroom to start a classroom discussion. Sample and example questions will be used. A discussion of the relationship of question types to assessment strategies will be presented. Discussion moderator techniques will be demonstrated.
As a result of attending this workshop, participants will
- Identify question types useful for enhancing student learning
- Explore moderation techniques for classroom discussions, and
- Analyze the relationship of discussion to evaluation and assessment

During this interactive workshop, participants will learn techniques to reshape lectures into active learning activities. Using PowerPoint and/or OneNote, this workshop will demonstrate uses of technology within a lecture that focus on student-centered activities.

- Explore appropriate assessment activities to use with lectures
