In the February 2008 edition, President Helton addresses a "special focus" survey where students nationally were asked to recall their first four weeks of college.  Some of the student responses included:

• Fewer than half of students met with an adviser to discuss academic plans in the first four weeks
• Slighty more than  half completed an assessment test for course placement
• 32% did not attend an orientation program, and only one in three who did said they were "very satisfied" with the experience.
