Dear Employers:
We are pleased to present to you this Graduate Bulletin of the Vincennes University Architectural Studies/CAD Program, which was created in 1968. The VU Architectural Studies/CAD Program prepares graduates for various technical positions within the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) related professions.
In this bulletin, you will find a presentation featuring each of the graduating students including a photo and a brief personal bio. You will also find a list of the program's first year students who might be looking for a summer internship or employment. To view these items in the Graduate Bulletin click on the following links.
The major focus of our curriculum is hands-on practical applications. The students have experience producing working drawings, presentation drawings and scale models. The students go through a dual-curriculum of manual and CAD (presently AutoCAD 2008 with Windows XP) drafting techniques, individually and within team settings. It is a very demanding 2 year program and the result is typically an individual who:
- Has developed working drawings, print reading ability and related technical skills for the AEC industry.
- Has developed problem solving and team building skills essential for becoming an effective partner in the AEC industry.
- Has developed the reading, writing, speaking and mathematical skills required for this same industry.
- Has developed the appropriate attitude and work ethic in order to be successful in this industry.
- Has developed an understanding of the business environment and the importance of time management
- Has developed an appreciation for the importance of continuing his or her formal and professional education, to stay competitive.
We are confident that our graduates meet your needs. Please contact us for either December or May graduates. It is our goal to provide you with an efficient and competent employee. Thank you.
