Choose an Exciting & Rewarding Career in Aviation Technology
Aviation Flight Technology prepares students for an exciting and rewarding
career in Commercial Aviation. You may earn your Private Pilot Certificate by the end of your first
semester at VU and then go on to earn your Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating.
Most students elect to earn the Flight Instructor Certificate, and some of them their multi-engine
rating. We also offer aerobatics instruction.
Aviation Flight majors start their flight training during the first week of
classes, and flight periods are scheduled several times a week for the entire semester. VU owns and
operates a fleet of modern and exceptionally well maintained training aircraft. Many of our
graduates elect to continue their education after graduating from VU, while others enter directly
into the industry. Initial employment is generally as a flight instructor. VU graduates are now
flying with many major air carriers including American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, United, and
US Airways, in addition to many regional carriers.
