How to Apply

The Military Education Program serves a variety of student populations requiring special admission application procedures. They are:

General Active Duty and Active Reserve Students:

  • Students apply to the MEP when registering for their first course through Vincennes University, whether it be a Distance Learning or on-site course.

California Military Students:

  • Students apply to the MEP when registering for their first course through Vincennes University whether it be a Distance Learning or on-site course.
  • The Military Education Program in California has not been contracted to provide basic skills classes and therefore, relies on the military partner to screen students for college readiness and to perform general educational counseling.
  • Enrollment for military students is open to any active duty and active reserve service members. Proof of high school graduation or GED certificate is provided through military records.
  • Military students enroll per class. No minimum enrollment is required. There is no time limit for the military students to complete a degree, though the Military Education Program does everything possible to help the individual student complete her/his degree in a timely manner. However, professional demands often prevent students from enrolling in classes every term. A formal re-admission is not required for these returning students.
  • Students are eligible for a SOCAD/SOCNAV agreement and degree plans after completion of the first class with Vincennes University.

Navy College Rating Degree Students:

  • The student will make application for admission by submitting a completed Vincennes University Admissions Application.
Include proof on high school or GED completion. (If status is available on official military documents, high school or GED diploma is not required)
  • The $20.00 application fee and signature must be included to complete the application process. Students will be notified of their admissions status within 3 to 4 weeks. After a student has been admitted to Vincennes University he/she will receive an orientation packet and be eligible to register for classes.
