Step Up To Supervisor

The Step Up to Supervisor: Learning to Survive, Lead, and Succeed Workshop is designed to prepare new managers by providing them with the knowledge and techniques required to meet demands with confidence and ability.  Comprehensive one-day workshops are being offered by Vincennes University in Monroe, Martin, Lawrence, Greene, Owen, Orange, Brown, and Daviess counties in December 2007 through May 2008 at WorkOne offices and other locations.

  • Lawrence County Bedford WorkOne Office  May 20 and June 9
  • Martin County Loogootee Learning Center April 22 and Crane NAVSEA May 6
  • Monroe County Bloomington WorkOne April 10 and May 22
  • Orange County French Lick Chamber of Commerce May 8 and Paoli Learning Center June 4
  • Daviess County  Daviess County Hospital May 27 and Gastof Restaurant June 2
  • Greene County Greene County Fairgrounds June 3

The workshops are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (EDT) and include a working lunch session.Topics covered include:

  • Understanding personality types
  • Leadership styles and motivation
  • Reading comprehension
  • Time management and coordination
  • Effective listening and speaking skills
  • Supervising friends and former co-workers
  • Diversity and sexual harassment
  • Conflict resolution, decision making, and the problem solving process
  • Honing interviewing skills

To register, download the Step Up to Supervisior registration form.  Complete the form and fax or mail it to your local WorkOne office.  When received by WorkOne, a confirmation of registration message will be sent to you and your supervisor and/or human resources department.
