The Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame is located in Jasper on the grounds of Vincennes University Jasper Campus, in the Alvin C. Ruxer Student Center, located at State Road 162 South and College Avenue.
The sponsoring body of the Hall of Fame is the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA), which has served the baseball coaches of Indiana since 1971.The first inductions were in July 1979 with Mickey Mantle as the first guest speaker. Other guest speakers of note have been Ernie Banks, Johnny Bench and Lefty Gomez.
More recently, the Hall of Fame went through an expansion, adding over 1100 square feet of exhibition space. Ray Howard, executive director of the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame, said that the expansion will include special exhibits on former New York Yankees first baseman Don Mattingly and current St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Scott Rolen.
