How To:
- To register your property go to JustStolen.net. Just follow the link that says Free New Member Registration.
- There are five fields to fill in to register, once you are registered then you can start adding your property.
- In the field that asks for your item's serial number, we strongly recommend to start all number with the prefix VU.
(Example: VU000U3V9N3255, VUAB 2342-211)
- Note: This is a rather large database and beginning your serial numbers with "VU" will help to narrow the field should you need to do a search for your property. Any item that has a unique number can be registered on this site, bicycles, computers, PDA's, tools, stereos or anything of value.
- If you have an item that does not have a unique number, you can engrave a number of your choosing, such as your student ID number on the item.
(Example: VU1A0001234, VU2A0001234, etc.)
- Should your registered items become lost or stolen go to JustStolen.net print off your property description and give that to the reporting officer.
- You can then change the status of your property to lost or stolen and include the police report number.
