2008 Mid-year Commencement Information
Congratulations! You are taking your final steps towards receiving your Vincennes University degree!
Vincennes University Midyear Commencement is Saturday, December 6th at 10:00 a.m. (EST) in the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center.
COMMENCEMENT SCHEDULE
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5
2:00 p.m. – Student Rehearsal – Red Skelton Performing Arts Center
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6
9:15 a.m. Graduates report to the Back Stage area of the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center to line up for the ceremony.
10:00 a.m. Commencement Ceremony begins in the Skelton Center
ACADEMIC HONORS
Graduates are candidates for academic honors if their cumulative GPA is 3.50 or higher. The honors category will be indicated next to the student’s name on the Commencement program. Academic honors candidates are eligible to wear an honor stole at the Commencement ceremony and should present the enclosed form to the Registrar’s office during the week of December 1, 2008 to receive an honor stole. A $15.00 deposit will be required upon receipt of the stole. You may elect to keep the stole or return the stole by December 12, 2008 to receive a full refund. DEPOSITS WILL BE FORFEITED AFTER DECEMBER 12, 2008. The honor stole is the only special regalia to be worn during the Commencement ceremony.
CAPS AND GOWNS
Caps and gowns may be picked up in the Old Post Bookstore beginning Monday, December 1, 2008 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The charge for the cap and gown, which the graduate keeps, is $30.00 for Associate degree graduates and $40.00 for Baccalaureate degree graduates.
GRADUATION PHOTOGRAPHY
Chadon Photographers will be present to photograph the graduates during the graduation ceremony. Proofs will be sent to your permanent address and are to be returned with your order directly to Chadon. The phone number for inquiries is 812-339-2060. You are not obligated to purchase photographs.
DIPLOMA
Your name and degree will appear on your diploma as it reads in your graduation audit letter. The same information will be used in the mid-year commencement program. Please notify the Registrar’s Office immediately if this information needs to be updated. Diplomas will be mailed to graduates after the completion of the Fall 2008 semester.
