Trailblazer Scholarship Fund - The VU Foundation awarded a record $1.4 million scholarship dollars of VU Foundation and University funds for the 2015-2016 school year to incoming and returning VU students.  

These included awards to students from 10 states across the country and 4 international awards.  

Currently the VU Foundation manages over 540 scholarship and department funds, with 259 new funds created in just the last 10 years.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation, is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.

#24 Vincennes University Lady Trailblazers Extend Winning Streak to 15 Against District P Opponent Shawnee

Vincennes, IN – Three Lady Trailblazers went over 20 points in a high-scoring 115 – 65 victory over the Shawnee Lady Saints.

In the first-half; the Vincennes’ defense was key for building a 31-point halftime lead. VU forced the Lady Saints to commit 24 turnovers in the first 20 minutes. Another factor was sophomore Claudia Stan who made her presence in front of the basket known many times throughout the early stages of the game. Stan went into halftime with a very good chance of a triple-double, with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 7 blocks. Fellow sophomores Mykel Roth and Ladellia Maggett set the tone offensively for Vincennes with Roth’s game-high 15 points at the break and Maggett’s 13 and 3 steals. The Lady Trailblazers shot an impressive 51% from the field in the first-half, controlling the pace of play almost from the tip.

Vincennes continued apply pressure defensively in the early stages of the second half, adding to their already impressive lead. Freshman Ivanda Hudjakova came out of halftime strong scoring 11 of her 13 points in the final two quarters of play. Fellow freshman Janiya Davis became a major scoring threat in as the game wore on, scoring 12 points in the second half.

Ladellia Maggett led the Lady Trailblazers scoring wise with a game-high 24 points, while also adding 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Mykel Roth finished with 23 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Janiya Davis was the third Lady Trailblazer with 20 or more points with 21 and 7 steals. Claudia Stan fell just short of a triple-double but did get a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

The Lady Trailblazers will be on the road this Saturday, February 10th, when VU travels to Olney, IL to take on District P rival Olney Central, as part of a men’s and women’s double-header. The Lady Trailblazers will start the action with a 2:00 p.m. eastern tip-off, with the men’s game to follow at approx. 4:00 eastern.
