Scholarship Fund Scholarship Fund

Trailblazer Scholarship Fund - The VU Foundation awarded a record $1.4 million scholarship dollars of VU Foundation and University funds for the 2015-2016 school year to incoming and returning VU students.  

These included awards to students from 10 states across the country and 4 international awards.  

Currently the VU Foundation manages over 540 scholarship and department funds, with 259 new funds created in just the last 10 years.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation, is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.

We support a well-rounded intercollegiate sports program for both men and women and have a strong presence in the NJCAA where we can claim several national championships. But we are equally proud of our individual All-American and All-American Academic athletes who have used their talent to continue their education at four-year colleges.

#3 Vincennes University Trailblazers Ride Second-Half Surge to Victory Over Lake Land College

Mattoon, IL – The #3 Vincennes University Trailblazers used a 14 – 0 run early in the second-half to a 90 – 71 victory over District 16 opponent Lake Land College.

Vincennes led at halftime 47 – 43, the Lakers started off the second-half of play with a 7 – 0 run, which VU answered with a 14 – 0 run of their own. The Trailblazers were aided by a pair of 3-pointers from freshman Ty Gadsden. Sophomore Isaiah Tisdale and freshman Lony Francis, Jr. took control of the game from there, continuing to build on VU’s 11-point lead, and leading Vincennes to a 90 – 71 victory in this District 16 match-up.

Lony Francis, Jr. set a new career-high with 24 points, while also capturing his sixth career double-double with a game-high 12 rebounds. Isaiah Tisdale showed off his rebounding skills tonight also, with a double-double of his own, at 20 points and 10 rebounds. Ty Gadsden finished his night with 16 points and 3 assists, and freshman Keith Clemons round out the Trailblazers scorers in double-figures with 14 points. Sophomore Rade Kukobat nearly reached double-double territory, with 8 points and 11 rebounds. Rade also had a game-high 3 blocks.

Vincennes looks to finish their season on a high note, on the road against Southwestern Illinois on Friday, March 2nd. This game is the second-half of a men’s and women’s double-header. Tip-off of the #24-ranked Lady Trailblazers game is scheduled for 6:30 eastern, with the men’s game to follow at approx. 8:30 eastern.
