#4 Vincennes Improves to 7-0 on the Season Following Win Over Lincoln Land

Vincennes, IN-The #4 Vincennes University Trailblazers defeated the Loggers of Lincoln Land by the final score of 91-35. Freshmen Ty Gadsden, Keith Clemons and sophomore Rodney Culver, Jr. each set new career-high in points with 25, 15 and 18.

The first-half of the game did not go without excitement, as freshman Ty Gadsden and sophomore Rodney Culver, Jr. lit-up the scoreboard with 16 and 10 points respectively. Gadsden was hitting from 3 early, by the half-time break he had already connected on 4 3-pointers. Culver did his part in helping the crowd at the Physical Education Complex get on their feet, in his first career start as a Trailblazers, recording the first points of the game on a 3-point shot right in front of the Vincennes student section, and a thunderous dunk later in the half.

The second-half was a many of, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” as the Trailblazers continued to execute their game plan. Highlights of the second-half included crowd-popping moments like an alley-oop by sophomore Rade Kukobat from fellow sophomore Isaiah Tisdale, and another thunderous slam dunk by sophomore Rodney Culver, Jr. who was led on a fast break by sophomore Tanner Thomas. Vincennes also shot the ball well after half-time connecting on 9 of 21 from behind the 3-point arc, and shooting 51% from the field.

The Trailblazers had 4 players reach double-figure point totals; Ty Gadsden led all scorers with 25 points and 6 assists, Rodney Culver, Jr. followed him with 18 points, freshman Keith Clemons added 15 points and 5 assists, and sophomore Isaiah Tisdale finished with 10 points and 4 assists.

The Trailblazers’ next home game will be on Tuesday, November 21st, as part of a men’s and women’s double-header against Kaskaskia. The VU Women’s team will start the action at 5 p.m. est, with the men’s game to follow.
