Trailblazer Scholarship Fund - The VU Foundation awarded a record $1.4 million scholarship dollars of VU Foundation and University funds for the 2015-2016 school year to incoming and returning VU students.  

These included awards to students from 10 states across the country and 4 international awards.  

Currently the VU Foundation manages over 540 scholarship and department funds, with 259 new funds created in just the last 10 years.

#4 Vincennes Remains Undefeated After Picking up 2 Wins Over Thanksgiving Weekend

Mineral Area, MO-The #4 Vincennes University Trailblazers traveled to Missouri this past weekend to take part in the “Chris Morrison State Farm Classic”.

VU was victorious against Fort Scott Community College on Friday by the score of 75-41. The Trailblazers had monster performances from freshmen Keith Clemons and George Dixon. Clemons lead the Blazers with a career-high 22 points, many of which coming off 5 made 3-point field goals. Clemons was responsible for 5 of VU’s 8 made 3’s all game. George Dixon gave an all-around performance, pulling in 17 rebounds! Dixon also had 4 of the 9 steals Vincennes forced during the game.

The Trailblazers finished the weekend trip on Saturday by picking up a win against Roane State with the final score being 96-57. 7 Blazers finished the game in double-figures in points. Freshman Ty Gadsden lead the scoring with 18, Lony Francis was second with 15. Isaiah Tisdale and Keith Clemons each had 13. C.J. Hedgepeth, Rodney Culver, Jr., and George Dixon each ended with 10 points. Vincennes also shared the ball well in this game, as Ty Gadsden finished with 8 assists, along with Hedgepeth and Clemons coming in with 4 assists each.

The Trailblazers defense was unrelenting all weekend, recording 17 total steals from 35 turnovers. Other stats of note include Vincennes outrebounding their opponents by 36 rebounds over the 2-game weekend.

The #4 Vincennes Trailblazers will return to action on Wednesday, November 29th as they take on District-16 opponent Lincoln Trail College in a men’s and women’s double-header with the women’s game starting at 5 p.m. and the men’s game to follow.
