#4 Vincennes University Defeats The Bosco Institute on Final Day of the 2017 Sodexo Classic

Vincennes, IN-The final game of the 2017 Sodexo Classic saw the #4 Vincennes University Trailblazers defeat the Dons of The Bosco Institute by the score of 92-65.

The first-half of the game can best be described as the “Isaiah Tisdale show”. The sophomore guard had 21 of the teams 46 points in the first-half, connecting on 7 of 12 shots, 3 of which were from behind the arc. The Trailblazers took care of the basketball when they were in control, ending the first half with only 5 turnovers.

After halftime the Blazers continued to execute offensively, aided by the excellent guard play of sophomores C.J. Hedgepeth and Isaiah Tisdale, as well as freshmen Ty Gadsden. Gadsden finished the game with 8 points and 7 assists, while Hedgepeth had 12 points and 5 rebounds. Tisdale matched the two of them, just with more points, finishing the night with 27 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds. The Vincennes defense also shined in this game, as VU force the Dons to commit 20 turnovers.

Another notable performance by the Trailblazer was freshmen George Dixon, who not only recorded a new career-high in points (11), but also had his first collegiate double-double adding 12 rebounds.

The Vincennes Men’s team will be on the road next, as they head to Mount Carmel, IL to take on the Warriors of Wabash Valley Community College, on Wednesday November 15th, in a men’s and women’s double-header. The VU women’s team will kick-off the action beginning at 6:30p.m. eastern, and the men’s game to follow.
