At VU, we believe sports play an important role in the overall purpose of an educational institution. We support a well-rounded intercollegiate sports program for both men and women and have a strong presence in the NJCAA where we can claim several national championships. But we are equally proud of our individual All-American and All-American Academic athletes who have used their talent to continue their education at four-year colleges.

#4 Vincennes University Remains Unbeaten Following Second-Half Comeback Against Shawnee

Ullin, IL-The #4 Vincennes University Trailblazers found themselves in a tightly-contested match-up versus District 16 opponent Shawnee, ultimately coming away with the 77-70 victory.

The Trailblazers were in an unfamiliar position going into half-time, trailing Shawnee 35-33. This type of low-scoring, defensive battle is the exact type of game we’ve come to expect out of a District 16 game. But in the second-half Vincennes faired a little better, out scoring Shawnee by 9 points.

VU had 3 players reach double-figures in points, freshman Ty Gadsden lead the Trailblazers scoring attack with 20, sophomore Isaiah Tisdale and freshman Keith Clemons each recorded 12 points in the contest. Tisdale also adding 8 assists, 7 rebounds and 3 steals to his impressive stat line. Freshman Lony Francis was Vincennes’ leading rebounder, pulling in 8 rebounds to go along with his 7 points.

The Vincennes Trailblazers will return home on Saturday, December 9th, when they face-off with Olney Central College as part of a men’s and women’s double-header. The women’s game will tip-off at 5 p.m. eastern with the men’s game to follow at approximately 7 p.m. eastern.
