#23 Lady Blazers Roll Past Lindsey Wilson in Season Opener

Vincennes,IN – The #23 ranked Vincennes University Lady Trailblazers picked-up a dominant win over Lindsey Wilson’s JV squad tonight at the PE Complex by a score of 102-to-35, and were led by a stand-out performance by sophomore Mykel Roth.

From the start, there was no doubt that the lady Blazers were focused on getting the win. They jumped-out to an early lead on LWC, and held a 28-point advantage, 32-to-4 after 1 quarter of play.

Vincennes wouldn’t look back. The Trailblazers would stretch their lead to as many as 68 late in the game, and would hold on to win by 67, 102-to-35 over Lindsey Wilson.

The Blazers were led in points by Mykel Roth who scored 21 on an efficient 6-of-7 shooting from the field, and 9-of-11 from the charity stripe. Roth would also add 3 steals and 2 assists. Freshman Janiya Davis had quite the opening performance in a Vincennes uniform herself as she tallied 17 points, poked away 6 steals, and blocked a shot in just under 19 minutes of play. Sophomore Ladellia Maggett, freshman Audrey Minix, and freshman Ivanda Hudjakova all broke into the double-digit scoring column with 10 points a-piece.

The Lady Blazers will return to action this weekend on Saturday and Sunday as the team hosts the Kiwanis Classic at home! Game time for Saturday is set for 3 p.m. vs. Olive-Harvey. Come out and support your Lady Trailblazers!
