Trailblazer Scholarship Fund - The VU Foundation awarded a record $1.4 million scholarship dollars of VU Foundation and University funds for the 2015-2016 school year to incoming and returning VU students.  

These included awards to students from 10 states across the country and 4 international awards.  

Currently the VU Foundation manages over 540 scholarship and department funds, with 259 new funds created in just the last 10 years.

Murphy adds another title; Goatee second in women's race

EVANSVILLE - Vincennes University sophomore Robert Murphy won the men's race and sophomore TaPring Goatee was second in the women's race Saturday at the University of Evansville Invitational in Evansville.

Robert Murphy and Tapring GoateeThe veteran runners' excellent performances led the Trailblazer men to a third place finish and the women were fourth.

In addition to Murphy's victory in 25:19.2, VU also got top-20 finishes from sophomore Michael Mest (15th; 27:14.6) and freshmen Joshua Backes (16th; 27:28.3) and Adam Warren (18th; 27:39.9). On the women's side, Goatee's runner-up finish in 18:34.7 was supported by freshman Kelly O'Shea's ninth-place run in 19:46.2.

Rose-Hulman won the men's event, with Lindenwood second, while host Evansville claimed the women's race over second place Austin Peay. Individually, in the women's race, Brittany Bohn, who was running unattached, turned in a top time of 18:29.2.
