Basketball Jamboree Tips Off on Sunday

The Vincennes University Men’s Basketball Team officially begins its short list of preseason dates with Sunday’s 2014 VU Men’s Basketball Jamboree at the VU P.E. Complex.

The Trailblazers will play three games in the jamboree and then host NAIA Div. I Lyndenwood-Belleville at 1 p.m. Oct. 25 at the P.E. Complex. The preseason tune-ups lead up to the Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 2014 Kiwanis Invitational at the P.E. Complex to start the 2014 regular season.

In Sunday’s jamboree, VU will face Kennedy-King at 12:30 p.m. on the VU P.E. Complex Main Floor and then return at 2:30 p.m. to take on Danville on the Main Floor. The Trailblazers’ third game will be at 4:30 p.m. vs. CYMA on the VU Donald Bell Recreation Center’s Court No. 1.

Sunday’s action will consist of 35 games on the P.E. Complex’s Main Floor and West Deck, plus three courts in the Rec Center. Besides the three teams the Trailblazers will play, VU will also host Cincinnati State, Core City, Don Bosco Prep, Harper, Indiana Elite Prep Academy, John A. Logan, Lincoln Trail, Kaskaskia, Lincoln Trail, Midwest Prep Elite PG, Midwest Prep Varsity, Olney Central, Owens, Parkland, Quakerdale Prep, Rend Lake, Shawnee, South Suburban and Southwestern Illinois.
