Trailblazer Scholarship Fund - The VU Foundation awarded a record $1.4 million scholarship dollars of VU Foundation and University funds for the 2015-2016 school year to incoming and returning VU students.  

These included awards to students from 10 states across the country and 4 international awards.  

Currently the VU Foundation manages over 540 scholarship and department funds, with 259 new funds created in just the last 10 years.

Track & Field Has Strong Showing on Day 2 of NJCAA Region XII Championships

Vincennes, IN – The Men’s & Women’s Track & Field teams got off to a hot start on the 1st day of full competition, 2nd overall day of competition at the NJCAA Region XII Championships by winning 4 events, and scoring in 7.

Sophomore Richard Griffith was the lone Trailblazer in action on day 1 in the decathlon, and would continue day 2 by winning all 6 of the remain events, including a personal best of 14’7 ½” in the pole vault, and captured the victory by scoring nearly 6,100 points.

Fellow sophomores Jordan Downs & Varvara Klyuchnikova continued the team’s success by both taking 1st place in the triple jump. Klyuchnikova garnered the victory with a leap of 35’4 ¾”, while Downs won with a mark of 45’ 4 1/2”, tying his personal best.

Freshman Jamesha Western was the 4th and final Trailblazer to take 1st on Friday by winning the women’s hammer throw with a mark of 147’7”, her 2nd best throw of the season in the event.

Other Blazers chipping in on scoring points on Friday included: freshman Dustin Clem finished 2nd in the hammer throw, freshman Collin Zollman took 3rd place in the steeple chase, and freshman Kyle Burchett finished 3rd in the 10,000m run.

Action at the NJCAA Region XII Outdoor Championships at Vincennes University will resume at 11:00 a.m.! Go Blazers!
