Trailblazer Scholarship Fund - The VU Foundation awarded a record $1.4 million scholarship dollars of VU Foundation and University funds for the 2015-2016 school year to incoming and returning VU students.  

These included awards to students from 10 states across the country and 4 international awards.  

Currently the VU Foundation manages over 540 scholarship and department funds, with 259 new funds created in just the last 10 years.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation, is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.

Vincennes University Lady Trailblazers Keep Their Winning Streak Alive After Victory Over Owens Community College

Vincennes, IN – The VU Lady Trailblazers started their 2018 right where 2017 left off, improving their winning streak to 8 straight after an 80 – 59 win over Owen Community College.

In the first-half, the Lady Trailblazers fought back-and-forth with the Express over control of the lead. In total there were 6 lead changes and 5 times the score was tied in the opening two quarters. Vincennes ultimately ending the half with a 13-point lead over Owens. Sophomore Ladellia Maggett was the games leading scorer at half-time with 15 points and 6 assists. Freshman Ivanda Hudjakova was the team’s second-highest with 7. VU’s defense forced the Owens guard to commit 11 first-half turnovers, which helped the Lady Trailblazers shoot 46% from the field.

Vincennes continued to hold a lead throughout the second-half, even after being outscored by 4 in the 3rd quarter. Ladellia Maggett took control of the game in all areas of play, recording her second double-double of the season with 26 points and 10 assists. Maggett also brought in 5 rebounds and swiped 4 steals during the game. Freshman Janiya Davis also had an excellent night with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 blocks. The VU defense continued to force Owens into tough situations offensively leading to 19 total turnovers, while also only shooting 30% for the game.

Maggett and Davis were the only Lady Trailblazers to reach double-figures, but Ivanda Hudjakova ended up with 9 points, and sophomores Mykel Roth (8 points and 6 rebounds) and Claudia Stan (5 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 blocks) played well all game.

Vincennes will return to action this Wednesday, January 10th when head on the road to face Southeastern Illinois as part of a men’s and women’s double-header. The Lady Trailblazers tip-off at 6:30 eastern. The next VU home game will be Saturday, January 13th, when the Lady Trailblazers face-off with Rend Lake College.
