Trailblazer Scholarship Fund - The VU Foundation awarded a record $1.4 million scholarship dollars of VU Foundation and University funds for the 2015-2016 school year to incoming and returning VU students.  

These included awards to students from 10 states across the country and 4 international awards.  

Currently the VU Foundation manages over 540 scholarship and department funds, with 259 new funds created in just the last 10 years.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation, is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.

VU Blazer Baseball to hold summer tryouts for 2016-17 school year


Vincennes, IN - The Vincennes University Baseball Team will hold open tryouts for the 2017-18 VU school year on Wednesday, June 14, and Tuesday , June 20, for players who have completed high school eligibility or student athletes wishing to transfer from another collegiate program.

If necessary, June 20 will become the rain date for June 14, and June 21 will be the make-up date for June 20.

The tryouts will be at VU’s Jerry Blemker Baseball Field. The workouts will begin PROMPTLY at 11 a.m. (EST) and registration will be between 10:30 and 11 a.m. If needed the rain date tryout on June 21 will have start time 1:30 p.m. and sign-up between 1 and 1:30 p.m. The tryouts will be run as pro-style workouts. All players are expected to run a 60-yard dash. Position players must field and throw from their positions as well as taking batting practice. Pitchers will be required to throw to hitters in a simulated game.

Catchers should bring their catching gear.

The tryouts will last most of the afternoon, depending on the number of athletes participating.

To participate in the tryouts, potential student athletes must have proof of an athletic activity physical (no exceptions) within the last 13 months. A copy of the 2015-16 high school athletics physical is acceptable. Junior College transfer students must have a release before trying out for VU.

**Directions to Jerry Blemker Field: Jerry Blemker Field is located at 1562 Old Terre Haute Road. Directions: From the U.S. 50/U.S. 41 Interchange on the north end of Vincennes, head south on Sixth Street 11 turn right on (at stoplight between the Marathon and Hucks). Go one block down to the 3 way stop and turn Right. The road curves around to the left and 1/4 mile down you will come to Old Terre Haute Road turn left (there is a sign that says VU Baseball Complex with left arrow just before the turn). Go .6 of mile and the field is on the right.
