VU Trailblazers make it seven consecutive appearances at No. 1 in rankings

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - There have been six regular-season NJCAA Div. I Men's Basketball polls after the Oct. 27 preseason poll, and the Vincennes University Men's Basketball Team has occupied the top spot in each one.
The Trailblazers (18-0) continued their grip on the No. 1 slot when the latest rankings were released earlier today from the NJCAA Headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO. VU garnered eight First Place votes and 342 points in retaining the top ranking. Northwest Florida State (20-0) remained at No. 2 and the rest of the Top 5 also stayed in place from last week's poll. The other three teams in the upper echelon are:
  • 3. Southern Idaho (21-0),
  • 4. Butler (19-0),
  • 5. Hill (18-1).
The rest of the Top 10 are: sixth, Connors State (18-1); seventh, Southwest Tennessee (14-1); eighth, Mineral Area (20-1); ninth, Indian Hills (18-2) and 10th, Jones County (11-0).
VU hosts Lewis & Clark at 7 p.m. tonight in a NJCAA District 16 skirmish and then heads to Kaskaskia on Saturday for another NJCAA District 16 match-up.

Scholarship Fund

Trailblazer Scholarship Fund - The VU Foundation awarded a record $1.4 million scholarship dollars of VU Foundation and University funds for the 2015-2016 school year to incoming and returning VU students.  

These included awards to students from 10 states across the country and 4 international awards.  

Currently the VU Foundation manages over 540 scholarship and department funds, with 259 new funds created in just the last 10 years.
