Radio - Broadcasting
Within your first semester in the program, you’ll have your own show on one of Vincennes University’s two internet stations.
You may also be air-talent for WVUB, a 50,000 watt non-commercial, public radio station affiliated with Public Radio International and playing a Hot Adult Contemporary/Contemporary Hit Radio format.
Or you may choose to be involved in other opportunities on WVUB, such as news gathering, news reading, promotions, sports play-by-play, color commentary and remote broadcasts.
In the VU Broadcasting tradition of hands-on training, you’ll learn to operate every piece of audio equipment in each of eight audio production studios. In our newsroom affiliated with Network Indiana news service and Cable News Network (CNN), you’ll learn to write and edit news, using an industry-standard, computerized news writing software.
