Michael Coyne, Assistant Professor, Program Chair

Mr. Coyne has 30+ years’ experience in business world, including 25 years in the automotive industry.  Mr. Coyne holds a Master’s of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor in Business Administration from Oakland University in Auburn Hills, Michigan.  Mr. Coyne also has an Associate’s Degree in Applied Electronics from Baker College in Flint, Michigan.  Mr. Coyne’s experience includes retail sales, inside-sales, field service technician, and project management.  As a project manager, Mr. Coyne has worked with manufacturing, marketing, engineering, and had the honor of working on a secured military project for the U.S. Army. Mr. Coyne teaches business, management, entrepreneurship, and projects courses at Vincennes University.

Jennifer Pacheco, Assistant Professor

Mrs. Pacheco has 26 years of experience in business and management. She is a veteran of the United States Army and holds a Bachelor of Business and a Masters of Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University. Mrs. Pacheco is currently working on her dissertation to complete a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Grand Canyon University. She has extensive experience leading small and large teams in the public and private sectors. “I believe in bringing experiential learning to the classroom, allowing students to learn through simulations and interactions with current business leaders from a wide variety of backgrounds and industries.

Vincennes University's Business Programs will give you the edge you need in the Professional world. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of small Business, Professionalism, Accounting and Economics. VU offers the a two year Business Administration transfer degree as well as the Business Management Degree for Students who are ready to take join the workforce.

Business Administration 5050, A.S. Transfer

This program is designed primarily for the purpose of preparing students to transfer to four-year schools of business. The program satisfies the Business Administration Transfer Single Articulation Pathway (TSAP) created under Indiana Senate Enrolled Act 182 passed in 2013.  Students completing the program intact will transfer into any State supported institution with 60 credits accepted. The curriculum includes a mixture of general education and business courses aimed at providing a foundation for further study and a career in business.

Business Management 5360, A.S. Career/Tech

bus-managementThis program prepares students for a variety of entry-level positions in the field of office administration, sales, retailing, materials distribution, finance and small business operations. In addition, most of the courses are designed to assist the employed persons in upgrading their skills. The curriculum includes several basic subject areas such as accounting, economics, management, labor relations, marketing and computer skills. The development of managerial skills useful in a  variety of job situations is emphasized.

General Studies - Business Studies 5900, A.S. Career/Tech

This program is available to students who meet the University’s requirements for an associate degree and a Basic Professional Component. This program allows students who may not satisfy the precise requirements in one of the other Business programs to graduate with a designation, which reflects their primary emphasis while at VU. Through the Approved Business Electives, this program allows students to design a program of study to meet special educational or career objectives.

(Note: This program is not available as a “double major” in conjunction with another program, or as a “second degree” once another degree has been earned.)

Alpha Beta Gamma Honor Society

Members of the Honors Business Club, Alpha Beta Gamma (ABG), are eligible to attend the annual National Leadership Conference held in various cities and countries.  At the conference, the Vincennes University Gamma Chapter members meet ABG members of other colleges from all over North America.  Honors members are able to network with other members, leaders in business, and the National Executive Council.  Students are offered an opportunity to compete for scholarship money, awards, and prizes through essays and presentations. 

To become an honors member of Alpha Beta Gamma, a full-time student needs an overall GPA of 3.0 and to pay a one-time, lifetime membership fee. Monthly club meetings are held in which activities, community service, and fund raising are discussed as well as topics which aid students in future employment and business related opportunities.  Honor members receive an Alpha Beta Gamma stole and pin for graduation which sets them apart from others and recognizes them as members of this prestigious organization.
