The ROTC program at Vincennes University is a series of college elective courses, designed to teach leadership skills to students and commission future officers as Second Lieutenants. Students who should consider ROTC possess academic discipline and a leadership mentality while still being a team player. They must be competitive, athletic and physically fit.
As a Second Lieutenant you will be a platoon leader with a responsibility for leading 30-45 soldiers. This responsibility includes training, planning, logistics, and personnel administration. Students who are on scholarship or contract will not be deployed while they are attending college. Second year students can contract and receive more financial benefits.
The Army ROTC Program offers:
- Scholarships (Full Tuition)
- Four Year (Tax Free)
- Three Year (GRFD/RA)
- Two Year (GRFD/RA) – no obligation for first two years
- Leader’s Training Course
- Any high school student who wishes to apply for a National ROTC scholarship, go to ArmyROTC.com to apply by December 1st
- Nursing scholarship (Army Medical Section) will pay all tuition, books, and expenses plus free training and in-service
