VINCENNES, Ind. - Vincennes University will acknowledge Robert “Gus” Stevens, former VU sports information director, on Feb. 17, in recognition of his 2017 induction into the NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association and Contributors Hall of Fame and longtime service to VU Athletics.
Stevens will be honored with a reception during halftime of the men’s Trailblazer Basketball game against Southeastern Illinois. The game begins at 7 p.m. (EST).
Stevens served the University and the Athletics Department for over 40 years, since his graduation from VU in 1956. He has long been a huge proponent of the University and has worked tirelessly over the years to promote Trailblazer Athletics.
This will be sophomore night for the band and cheer team as well, with recognitions taking place prior to the women’s game which begins at 5 p.m.
