August 14, 2018 / Law enforcement to train at VU Gibson Center on Aug. 16

FORT BRANCH, Ind. - Vincennes University’s Gibson County Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics will host law enforcement tactical training teams from Knox and Vanderburgh counties on Aug. 16, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (EDT). The Gibson Center provides law enforcement with state-of-the-art facilities that give tactical team members access to real-life training environments in its Confined Space Training Facility.

“The goals of any tactical training is to further the ability of my unit to respond and engage any potential threat and to accomplish this through immediate action or prolonged negotiations,” said Knox County Sheriff Mike Morris. “The primary goal is to prepare the best-trained officers to make immediate decisions. VU’s Confined Space Training Facility provides us with the necessary environment to accomplish our training goals.”

VU’s Gibson County Center for Advanced Manufacturing is a leading resource for workforce development.  The 57,000 square-foot facility features modern and flexible training labs and classrooms that serve employers, employees, and students within southwestern Indiana’s industrial corridor.  It is located on U.S. 41 near Fort Branch and just a few miles from Interstates 64 and 69.
