Interior Design

Available on the Vincennes Campus

INTERIOR DESIGNERS make interior spaces functional, safe, and beautiful for almost every type of building:  homes, offices, shopping malls, restaurants, and businesses.   They  select and specify colors, finishes, fabrics,  furniture,  flooring  and  wall  coverings,  lighting,  and  other  materials  to  create  useful  and  stylish interiors for buildings.   If you have creative talent and an eye for design, this may be the field for you.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the employment in the field of interior design is expected to grow 19% from 2010 to 2020.  The median annual salary in 2015 was $48,840.

Dani Hunckler, 2014 VU Interior Design Graduate

"I graduated from Vincennes University in 2014 with my Associate's degree in Interior Design.  After VU I transferred to IUPUI to complete my Bachelor’s degree.  I am currently working at Niehaus’ Inspire Design Center as a Kitchen and Bath Designer.  What I liked most as a student at Vincennes University were my classes and program.  I made lots of friends and the teachers were fantastic!"           Dani Hunckler VU 2014
