I began teaching as a graduate student in 2002, and have been at it ever since. Over that time, I've come to realize that no writing is perfect. All writers can be better, and my biggest goal is to make you a better writer, and I hope that along the way you'll find your voice, learn a little about who you are and what you value, gain some confidence, and learn to find writing a little less scary.
When I'm Not Teaching
When I'm not in class, you can find me digging through crates of records, reading about American culture and history, playing cards, holding a book club meeting with my daughter, or creating mythical creatures with my son.
