METAMORA, Ill. -- The Vincennes University Men’s Golf team competed in the Mid-West Athletic Conference tournament at Metamora Fields Golf Club on Monday and came away with a third-place finish. In a unique scoring format, the tournament was scored using a similar style used in the Ryder Cup. Parkland won the tournament with a team score of 339, followed by Illinois Central College (356), Vincennes (357) and Lewis and Clark (397). “Overall I thought the team played pretty well,” VU coach Dennis Chattin said. “We were the only non-scholarship school in the tournament.” Individually, a pair of Trailblazers came home with all-conference honors. Wyatt Roberts shot an even-par 71 to earn co-medalist honors with Parkland’s Jalen Hodges. Zach Hall fired a 1-over-par 72 as he tied for third. “I was very pleased with the way Wyatt and Zach played,” Chattin stated. “I thought they both posted some really great scores.” Other Trailblazer scores were: Matt Jordan 83, Joe Albright 84, Reggie Arnett 88, and Cole Parmer 90. VU returns to the links on Monday as it participates in the John A. Logan Invitational. The two-day tournament will be played at Kokopelli Golf Club in Marion, Ill.
