3 Trailblazers Earn All-American Honors

Vincennes, IN – Isaiah Tisdale, Lony Francis, Jr. and Lady Trailblazer Ladellia Maggett each garnered All-American honors this week from the NJCAA.

Isaiah Tisdale is a 6-1 sophomore guard from Lexington, KY who added First Team All-American to his list of accomplishments while at Vincennes University. Tisdale was an All-American honorable mention last year and is a 2-time District 16 Tournament MVP. Tisdale led the Trailblazers in scoring averaging 17.4 points per game. Isaiah’s 1,167 career points not only puts him in VU’s exclusive 1,000-point club but is 16th most in school history. Tisdale also finished the 2017-18 season averaging 4.6 rebounds per game and a team-leading 4.5 assists per game.

Lony Francis, Jr is a 6-7 freshman forward from Groveport, OH whose stellar first-season ended with an NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention selection. Francis finished 2018 with 12.4 points per game, a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game, and 7 double-doubles. Francis made an impact early in his freshman season and ended up starting 31 of VU’s 37 games this year.

Lony alongside Isaiah led the Trailblazers to a 34 and 3 record, with a Final Four appearance and a 4th place finish nationally. VU went undefeated at home and won the District 16 Tournament Championship. Tisdale finished his Trailblazer career with a 66 and 6 record, with back-to-back District 16 Tournament Championship and 2 trips to the NJCAA National Basketball Tournament.

Ladellia Maggett is a 5-9 sophomore guard from North Chicago, IL who received Second-Team All-American honors for the second time in her career. Maggett led the Lady Trailblazers with 20 points per game, 6 assists per game and 4 steals per game. Ladellia also grabbed 3.5 rebounds per game. Maggett finished her career at VU as a member of the 1,000-point club with 1,179 points. In Ladellia’s two-year in Vincennes, the Lady Trailblazers put together 50 wins and were District 16 Tournament Runner-Up this season.
