Mineral Area added to Blazer Classic field, among VU Volleyball schedule changes

Mineral Area has now been added to the field for the Vincennes University Volleyball Team's Sept. 9 and 10 Blazer Classic at the Vincennes University P.E. Complex.
**Mineral Area will also take the place of Wallace State-Hanceville in playing VU at 7 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the VU P.E. Complex.

**In another schedule change, Trailblazer Coach Gary Sien has announced VU's match Saturday vs. Monroe at the Owens Invitational in Toledo, OH, HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO 1:30 P.M.

4 p.m. VU vs. Glen Oaks
6 p.m. Wallace State vs. Lake Land
8 p.m. Lake Land vs. VU
4 p.m. Malcolm X vs. Wallace State
6 p.m. Glen Oaks vs. Mineral Area
8 p.m. Mineral Area vs. Malcolm X

10 a.m. Malcolm X vs. Lake Land
12 p.m. VU vs. Malcolm X
2 p.m. Mineral Area vs. VU
10 a.m. Glen Oaks vs. Wallace State
12 p.m. Wallace State vs. Mineral Area
2 p.m. Lake Land vs. Glen Oaks

**Finally, don't forget that tonight's 5 p.m. VU Volleyball match at Sinclair in Dayton, OH, will be broadcast live on the Gem City Sports Network.

The Trailblazers are 2-0 on the young season after garnering wins over Malcolm X and Elgin last weekend at the Malcolm X Tri-Match in Chicago.

The Vincennes University Athletic Department hosts Play4Kay and raises donations for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund annually. VU Women’s Basketball Coach and Athletic Director Harry Meeks has a special connection to the late Yow, who was the longtime coach at North Carolina State. He had the pleasure of meeting her while he was an assistant coach at Western Carolina University. This left a lasting impression on him and made this cause important to him and the Trailblazers.

Trailblazer Scholarship fund - The VU foundation awarded $970,242.80 scholarship dollars of the VU Foundation and University funds for the 2017-18 school year to incoming and returning VU students.  These included awards to students from 8 states across the country and 3 international awards.

The VU Foundation currently manages over 525 scholarship and department funds, with 247 news funds created in just the last 9 years.
