Track & Field Signs Boonville Stand-Out Brandenberger

Vincennes, IN – Vincennes University Track & Field added another outstanding athlete to the 2017 recruiting class on Friday by signing Boonville High School stand-out Taylin Brandenberger.

Brandenberger was a phenomenal athlete while at Boonville High School, competing in both Volleyball and Track & Field for the Pioneers. In fact, she had so much success on the volleyball court, she had considered signing with Brescia University as a volleyball player, rather than as a track athlete. Make no mistake, Brandenberger was no slouch on the track. She won multiple Big 8 Championships in the 4x8 and 400m run. She holds personal bests of 59.27 seconds in the 400, 27.32 in the 200, and a 2:20 800m relay split in the 4x8 at the 2017 Evansville Central Regional Track Meet.

Head Coach Chris Gafner said of signing Brandenberger, “We were really excited to sign Taylin. She is a talented kid, has a lot of upside, and is a very hard worker. We believe that she is going to be a great addition to our strong middle-distance core on the women’s side, and her range of events really gives us some much-needed depth in several areas. Her work ethic and drive to succeed are habits that will really translate to success at this level.”
